Tampa Dock & Seawall

The Challenge
The existing site was cluttered, outdated, and non-responsive — a serious liability for a company that needed to rebuild brand credibility.
Waterfront construction (docks, seawalls, boathouses, boat lifts) is a high-trust, high-cost purchase; a site that looks dated undercuts confidence before a prospective client reads a word of copy.
Strategic Approach
Target Audience
Affluent boat owners around Tampa Bay — high-income, predominantly male, ages 40–65 — who prioritize enjoying their boat over displaying wealth, and who typically need to be educated on dock and seawall construction despite being experienced boaters themselves.
That gap (boating expertise, construction inexperience) meant the site had to build credibility and teach, not just look premium.
Competitor Analysis
Research into competitor sites informed a step-by-step format for lead generation, structured to walk an unfamiliar buyer through the process rather than assuming they already know what they’re evaluating.
Design Decisions
Fully responsive rebuild
The original site broke down outside of desktop; the redesign was rebuilt responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile using Adobe XD mockups — essential for a high-end clientele who expect a site to work flawlessly regardless of device.
A modern aesthetic calibrated to the client
Visual design was elevated to match a high-end clientele’s expectations — clients who own boats and waterfront property expect the vendor evaluating their dock or seawall to look as credible and current as any other high-value service they hire.
mproved layout and scrolling experience
Page structure was reworked to move visitors smoothly through content instead of overwhelming them, directly addressing the clutter of the original site.
Step-by-step lead generation flow
Informed by the competitor analysis, content was organized to educate this specific audience — knowledgeable boaters, less familiar with construction — before asking them to convert.

Design Rationale
Every decision worked toward the same goal: replace a cluttered, non-responsive site with one that rebuilds trust on sight, speaks to a high-end, boat-owning clientele, and educates them just enough to move confidently toward a quote — addressing both the credibility gap left by previous ownership and the knowledge gap in the audience itself.
